Demand for cancellation of online revenue collection

Chaibasa, Jan. 10: Former chief of Manki-Munda Union Antu Hembrom and Kurshi Mukhiya Niresh Deogam submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner demanding cancellation of online revenue collection from Revenue land holder as it is against the Hukkanam (record of rights) established Act since 1834 for Manki-Munda system of administration in Kolhan.

It was also mentioned in the memorandum that for collecting revenue from the land owner has been continuing after independence as well.

The recent on line revenue collection is null and void by circle officer.

Hembrom said, according to Hukknama, Munda is the head of village and Manki is the head of Pir and they are responsible towards village and Pir (head of Munds) .

He also mentioned that receipt of revenue collection should be issued to the Manki –Munda. The Manki Munda were also present during the representation to DC.
