Death toll reaches five in Ichagarh road accident

Chandil, Feb 24:  After the death of 8-year-old Punam Kumari in a road accident on Thursday evening near the petrol pump at Bada Chunchuriya in Ichagarh police station area of Seraikela Kharsawan district, the number of dead mounted to five on Friday. The deceased included Bimla Devi, her 12-year-old son Haldhar and 16-year-old daughter Dipali, while their injured father Kamla Kant was undergoing treatment at Singhpur Nursing Home, Muri. Another victim, 35-year-old Alka Devi also died in the course of treatment. It may be informed that 15 persons riding an autorickshaw were seriously injured when a truck hit the autorickshaw at Bada Chunchuria in Ichagarh Block area. While the eight year old girl died on the spot, the others were admitted to Singhpur  Nursing Home. Six seriously injured among them were referred to RIMS in Ranchi for better treatment. Four of them died on Friday increasing the death toll in the accident to five. The bodies of the dead were sent to the village after postmortem. The entire village has plunged into grief.
