Jamshedpur, March 18: After receiving a complaint from Deputy Pramukh Afzal Akhtar regarding anomalies in the construction of drain in the North Ghorabandha Panchayat under Mukhiya Fund at a cost of Rs 2,49,000, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar directed DDC B Maheshwari to resolve the issue.
The DDC chaired a meeting in his office where the Deputy Pramukhs complaint was found justified and in favour of the residents and it was decided that the road would be widened by constructing RCC roads on either side of the drain whose construction had been stalled and slabs laid over it so that the width of the road was expanded. This whole process would entail a six inch part of Bihar Government land on one side and 18 inch of road of the locality. The concrete slabs to be placed over the drain would not only ensure smooth flow in the drainage system but also provide for a wider and smoother road.
Speaking to the media after the meeting Deputy Pramukh Afzal Akhtar thanked the DDC for taking a decision in favor of the Panchayat residents. He also stated that with the dispute reaching the DCs notice, the rightful claims of the people had seen the light of day. Among those present at the meeting were Jamshedpur Block BDO Malay Kumar, Engineer Pratap Mahanty, the Junior Engineer, Mukhiya Tulsi Tudu, Deputy Mukhiya Nazar Imam and others.
