Seraikela: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chhavi Ranjan, paid a visit to Chandil Dam on Wednesday and took stock of the situation in view of continuous rains that lashed the district over the last few days.
He directed the SDO of Chandil to close down the lower bridge for public use with immediate effect. He also ordered deputation of Swarnarekha Multi-purpose Project staff in the relief camps to provide assistance to the flood-affected families.
He also inspected Joyda temple situated close to National Highway 33. He found the bridge connecting NH33 to the temple overflowing with flood water. He ordered closure of the bridge for public use.
