 Jamshedpur, July 25: Jamshedpur is gearing up to host the Group D matches of the prestigious Durand Cup Football Tournament from July 28 to August 23, 2024. In preparation for this major sporting event, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted a crucial meeting and site inspection at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The high-level meeting focused on ensuring law and order and the smooth conduct of the tournament. Key attendees included members of the District Administration, the Organizing Committee, Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, PD ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, along with Colonel Manas Kundu and Major Mohit Jain from the Indian Army, and representatives from Tata Steel Sports department.

Several important aspects were addressed during the meeting, including deployment of adequate police forces, installation of scanner machines at entry points, maintenance of clear VIP entry routes, and management of parking and traffic systems. The officials also emphasized ensuring a trouble-free experience for sports enthusiasts, efficient management of player movement and accommodation, and stationing of ambulances and fire brigades on standby. Following the meeting, senior district officials and members of the organizing committee conducted a thorough site inspection of the JRD Sports Complex to ensure all arrangements meet the required standards.

The tournament is set to kick off with an inaugural ceremony at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on July 28. Group D participants include Assam Rifles Football Team, Chennaiyin Football Club, Indian Army Football Team, and Jamshedpur Football Club.
