Jamshedpur, July 6: In view of the Muharram festival, the district administration was taking all necessary precautions to ensure peace and security in the city. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey visited the composite control room at Sakchi to review security arrangements. They monitored key locations and sensitive areas through CCTV surveillance.
City SP Kumar Shivashish and other senior officials were also present during the visit. Following the inspection, the officials toured various parts of the city, particularly Akhara procession sites, to assess the law and order situation. Officers deployed at these sites were instructed to stay vigilant and work towards maintaining communal harmony.
The Deputy Commissioner advised medical teams, volunteers, and other personnel stationed along the procession routes to stay alert and be prepared for any emergency. He emphasized the importance of coordination among all departments and directed them to stay in constant touch with the District Control Room to ensure quick response to any incident.
The DC stated that the administration was closely monitoring social media platforms. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone spreading misinformation, rumours, or content that could hurt religious sentiments. Offenders would be identified and punished as per the law.
Representatives from the Municipal Corporation, Police Administration, Peace Committee, Magistrates, and other concerned officials were present during the inspection. The administration also appealed to the public to celebrate the festival peacefully, with mutual respect and brotherhood.
