Chaibasa, Nov 18: Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum, Arava Rajkamal and Police Superintendent Ajay Linda on Wednesday inspected Chhat Ghats in Nagar Parishad areas of Chaibasa and Chakradharpur. Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon accompanied the two district officials on the inspection tour of Chhat Ghats.
After completing inspection of the ghats, Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal appealed to devotees that if any of them had any signs of cough, cold or fever, such person should perform Chhat Puja at home and get health checks. He said, “I appeal to all devotees as also the general people to perform Chhath Puja at their homes. If there is no appropriate facility at home, then only should they go to the Ghats. The Nagar Parishad has ensured cleanliness at all the Chhath Ghats but people going there should abide by all COVID protocols. They are to maintain social distancing, put on face masks or face covers.”
SP Ajay Linda informed, “The district and police administrations will enforce all COVID protocols strictly during observance of Chhat rituals at the Ghats. Security personnel will be posted at all Chhath Ghats, women police personnel will also be there and mobile teams will be formed to ensure safe and peaceful Chhath Puja.”
