DC Orders Swift Clearance of 6,900+ Pending Ration Card Cases

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan has ordered the District Supply Department to resolve all 6,976 pending ration card cases within the month. The backlog includes 2,273 Management System applications, 869 inactive cards, and 3,834 duplicate beneficiary cases.

During a review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium, the DC emphasized transparency in the Public Distribution System. He instructed officials to identify individuals who routinely fail to collect their food grains and handle their cases according to standard rules, freeing up resources for deserving families.

While noting satisfactory progress under the Dakiya Yojana for PVTG families, the DC warned of strict penalties for any distribution irregularities. Additionally, he directed officials to resolve pending grievances on government portals, conduct surprise inspections at fair-price shops, and expedite warehouse repairs. ADM Rahul G. Anand and District Supply Officer Zulfikar Ansari attended the session.
