DC orders action against illegal mining in Seraikela-Kharsawan

Seraikela: The deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chhavi Ranjan, here on Friday directed the mining department officials to ensure that all ore-laden vehicles passing through the district are properly covered to prevent dust pollution. He said the Supreme Court had also given guidelines in this regard.

He asked the mining officials to check vehicles by putting up barriers in all police station areas. He also asked the officials to implement the ban on illegal sand mining strictly across the district. He said the transportation of sand and ores should be kept under vigil, especially at night.

He further sought a report on stone mining and status of their agreement apart from seeking a list of stone crusher units in the district.
