Jamshedpur: The deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar inaugurated an eco friendly toilet constructed with the help of discarded plastic bottles at Manav Vikas Vidyalaya, Garabasa, Telco, on Friday.
The toilet was constructed as a model toilet made of plastic waste on the occasion of Environment Day this year following an initiative taken by deputy collector Sanjay Kumar.
In his address, the DC praised every individual who contributed to the toilet construction. He said the unique toilet was the result of the collective effort put in by many people.
He also praised Cleanliness Ambassador of the city Mondrita Chatterjee who donated her savings for the project. Mondrita�s father Amitabh Chatterjee helped her daughter in her mission.
The DC said the people should play their role in constructing toilets and making the district open defecation free (ODF). He felicitated the meritorious students of the schoo.
Sanjay Kumar recounted the events preceding the construction of toilet at Manav Vikas Vidyalaya and praised local residents for their help.
