DC directs civic bodies officials to perk up or face music

Area wise camps in May for trade license, action against building violators

Jamshedpur, April 25: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav reviewed the progress in the implementation of development plans by the municipal bodies, infrastructure construction, revenue collection, map deviation, door-to-door garbage collection, cleanliness and other aspects.

She directed that beneficiaries of Birsanagar Awas Yojana (Vertical 3) who are not willing to deposit the first instalment,action  should be initiated to cancel their allotment by giving notice. Out of 5366 beneficiaries, only 2622 beneficiaries have deposited the amount of first installment so far, other beneficiaries are not appearing despite being informed several times, giving all of them a last chance to cancel the allotment and allot flats to other beneficiaries.

Along with this, instructions were given to widely publicize the housing scheme among the eligible beneficiaries. Instructions have been given to make standard operating procedure for better use of community buildings.

The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the maintenance and functional of the public toilets built by the municipal bodies. She also appealed to the general public to complain if the public toilets of the municipal bodies are not functional properly, they will be repaired and made smooth immediately. Instructions were given to collect fine from those who defecate in the open.

Reprimanding the JE of JNAC for slow action on the complaints received through various means against map deviation, the Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to improve the working style. She clearly said that the action against the deviation of the map should not remain only on papers and regular follow-up should be done on the notice issued.

Instruction were given for survey of all the buildings that are worth demolishing in the urban area, review of the action against hoardings.

The Deputy Commissioner gave clear instructions that not a single illegal hoarding should be installed in the city. The Deputy Commissioner has directed to organize a camp for 15 days in the month of May for issuing trade license.

About 11 thousand trade licenses have been issued in JNAC and 8.5 thousand in Mango Municipal Corporation so far.

She instructed the enforcement team to inspect 200-300 shops daily. At the same time, the shopkeepers were asked to display their trade license in front of the shop.

Those shops of Bus Stand (Bhuiyandih) whose rates have not been fixed were identified and instructions were given to fix the rates. Along with this, instructions were given to speed up the collection of revenue from various market areas under JNAC. The Deputy Commissioner said that those who have been allotted shops cannot be entitled to sell to others, either run the allotted shop themselves or the administration will take it back.

Instructions were given to enter into a rent agreement with those who would be found sitting in the shop. The Deputy Commissioner gave clear instructions that all the municipal bodies should increase the internal revenue collection.

Deputy Commissioner said that all the sweepers will make attendance through biometric. Instructions were given to start night sweeping in one or two areas as an experiment. Along with this, emphasis was laid on paying special attention to the cleanliness of roads and drains. The Deputy Commissioner said that it is the responsibility of the municipal bodies to improve civic facilities, take special care of it. People’s complaints were asked to be executed on priority basis.
