DBMS students shine in ASISC National Hockey & Basketball championship

Jamshedpur, Sept. 20: D.B.M.S. English School is the only ICSE/ISC School in Jamshedpur which coaches their students in the National Game – Hockey. Among the 16 players squad of Bihar and Jharkhand Team (Under – 19) for the ASISC National Hockey Championship, seven students were from D.B. M. S. English School and the rest were from Don Bosco School, Gumla. The Championship was played on 14th & 15th September 2018 at Rourkela, Odisha. Bihar and Jharkhand Boys showcased their skill and in the final they trounced the opponent Karnataka team by 3-0. Five players of Bihar and Jharkhand Team have been selected for the SGFI National.

Seven players of DBMS English School who played in the Nationals are D. Shashank of class 12, Adarsh Gupta of class 11, Aman verma of class 11D, Shaswat Agarwal of class 11C, Subhajit Palit of class 9D, Sukhman Singh Bhatia of class 7D and Vaibhav Gupta of class 9B.

In the ASISC – National Basketball Championship which was played at Rourkela, Odisha on 16th & 17th September, DBMS student Anurag Sharma, a student of Std. XII B who was a member of Bihar and Jharkhand Region squad.
He showcased his skill and has been selected for the SGFI (School Federation Games India). In the final of the championship Bihar and Jharkhand region lost to Uttar Pradesh by 57-55.
DBMS principal Rajani Shekhar, Vice-Principal P. K. Sahu, Games Co-ordinator, P. Ramesh Kumar congratulated the teams as well as the accompanying Hockey team coach Suryajeet Singh (DBMS) and the Manager Rajesh (Don Bosco School).
