The programme was jointly organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It brought together selected youth participants from several states and Union Territories, including Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

The initiative aimed to provide young participants with firsthand exposure to life in India’s border villages and to explore opportunities for their development through better infrastructure, tourism, connectivity, and livelihood generation. Participants gained valuable insights into the social, cultural, and economic conditions of border communities.
During the programme, Megha and other participants interacted with personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). They learned about the challenges faced by border security forces and witnessed their disciplined lifestyle and dedication to national service.

A major highlight of the programme was the participants’ stay with local families in Rakchham village. This gave them an opportunity to experience rural life closely and understand local traditions and culture. They also attended Gram Sabha meetings in Batseri and Chitkul villages, gaining practical knowledge of local governance and community development. Chitkul is known as the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border.
Participants described the programme as inspiring and educational. They said the experience helped them understand the developmental needs of border regions and the importance of national integration.
