DBMS Kadma: Praveer Kashyap, V Karthik emerge winners at chess tournament

Jamshedpur, June 24: DBMS Kadma High School organized an exhilarating inter-house chess tournament at the school’s auditorium ‘Kalakriti’. The event, inaugurated by the school’s Principal and Tournament Director Gurpreet Bhambra, saw enthusiastic participation from 56 contestants representing all four houses: Ruby, Topaz, Emerald, and Sapphire.

The competition featured two categories: senior and junior, with participants competing fiercely through multiple rounds to reach the finals. In the senior category, Praveer Kashyap of Sapphire House clinched the first prize, followed by Suraj Kiran from Emerald House in second place, and Ketan Kumar of Ruby House securing the third position.

In the junior category, V Karthik of Sapphire House emerged victorious, with Vedansh Sinha of Topaz House securing the second prize, and Anant Agarwal from Sapphire House securing the third spot.

The tournament aimed to foster creativity and strategic thinking among the students, showcasing their keen interest and dedication throughout the competition. Following the conclusion of the matches, a prize distribution ceremony was held, graced by the presence of Anita Ramakrishna, Secretary of the School Management Committee.

Chief Arbiter of the tournament was IA Chandan Kumar Prasad while Arbiters were Anup Kumar Singh, Chiranji Lal, Shubhangi Verma and Sweta Kumari.

Among those present at the event were members of the School Management Committee, Principal Gurpreet Bhambra, Vice Principal Suparna Roy, S. Shireen, Head of the Sports Department and Tournament Technical Director Suprava Panda, along with other sports teachers and faculty members.
