DBMS hosts Adi Utsav, students stage Bharata Natyam

Jamshedpur, Aug. 12: As part of Tamil month of Adi, Dakshina Bharatha Mahila Samaj (DBMS) today organized a cultural programme titled “Adi Kondattam” (Adi Utsav) at its premises.

in the month of Adi, Tamil populace performs pujas especially for goddesses. Hence, DBMS also organized a Bharata Natyam dance programme which was full of paying obeisance to Goddess Durga by dance form.

20 children, mainly from the DBMS families and 5 children from Kolkata participated in the programme.

The children are students of Nrityayan and coached by Guru Asoke Chakraborty of Kolkata. Children who performed excellently kept the audience spellbound.

Earlier, Bhanumati Neelakanthan, Chairperson and Lalitha Chandrashekhar, Jt Chairperson of DBMS, lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the programme. Meena Mohan, President, DBMS, welcomed the guests and audience to the programme.

Shobhana Senthil Kumar, Hony Treasurer, DBMS, introduced the artists. Padma Siva, Vice President, Tamil Selvi, Hony Secretary, Radha Srinivasan, Jt Secretary of DBMS, contributed immensely for the successful organization of the event.
