Jamshedpur: D.B.M.S English School witnessed a captivating display of theatrical prowess during its Inter-House Play Competition held on Wednesday. The competition, centered around adaptations of R.K Narayan’s iconic work, Malgudi Days, brought to life the simple yet profound stories of the fictional town of Malgudi.
The event was honored by the esteemed presence of Bhanumathi Neelkanthan, the patron, members of the School Managing Committee, Principal Rajani Shekhar, Vice Principal P.K. Sahu, and distinguished guests. Renowned personalities Rohini Sathaye, former teacher and President of Maharashtra Hitkari Mandal, and Siddhartha Sen, former teacher, acclaimed actor, and voice-over artist, graced the occasion as judges.
Students from the four houses—Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue—showcased exceptional acting skills, bringing to life the innocence of Swamy and his friends, along with the charm of the unpretentious village life in pre-independent India.
The competition not only provided a platform for students to hone their theatrical skills but also encouraged them to explore and adapt to the diverse characters from Malgudi Days. The judges commended the participants for their acting prowess, confidence, and stage presence, offering valuable insights into the finer nuances of stagecraft.
