DBMS College of Education Hosts Communication Skills Session

Jamshedpur: The D.B.M.S. College of Education Alumni Association (SETU) organized a session on Effective Communication Skills. The guest speaker at the event was Sangeeta Kaur, a Nursery and Fine Art Teacher at DBMS Kadma High School.

During the session, Kaur explained the core meaning and process of communication. She detailed its essential components—sender, message, medium, receiver, and feedback—and outlined the communication flow chart. She also highlighted how crucial feedback is for effective interaction.

Kaur addressed various barriers to communication, such as lack of clarity, language differences, poor listening, distractions, and emotional obstacles. She then guided participants on how to overcome these hurdles to ensure meaningful exchanges. Emphasizing communication’s role in education, she explained how strong skills help teachers clarify concepts, motivate students, build confidence, encourage participation, and foster a positive classroom environment.
