Jamshedpur, June 19: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit–1 of D.B.M.S. College of Education organized an orientation programme for newly selected NSS volunteers of the 2025–2027 session. The programme was conducted under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Poonam Kumari.
The objective of the programme was to introduce the new volunteers to the aims, activities, and responsibilities of the National Service Scheme. Participants were encouraged to follow the values of service, discipline, leadership, social responsibility, and the NSS motto, “Not Me But You.”
The programme was anchored by Siddhi and Srishti. Trisha delivered a motivational speech, while Shaumini presented a poem emphasizing service, patriotism, and youth empowerment. Nikki and Priya assisted in the NSS badge distribution ceremony.
Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Vice-Principal Dr. Monika Uppal, and faculty members distributed NSS badges to the newly selected volunteers. Following the ceremony, the volunteers took the NSS pledge, committing themselves to social service, national integration, environmental protection, and the promotion of human values.
A special attraction of the event was an experience-sharing session by Megha Kumari, who spoke about her ten-day camp experience in Himachal Pradesh. Her inspiring account motivated the volunteers to actively participate in community service and nation-building activities.
The programme received valuable support from Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, the college administration, faculty members, and supporting staff.
