Youth will shape India’s destiny: Neha Agarwal

Jamshedpur, Aug 13: The NSS Unit 1 of D.B.M.S. College of Education celebrated International Youth Day with great enthusiasm, featuring Youth Icon and Founder of Young India, Neha Agarwal, as the Chief Guest. All members of NSS Unit 1 participated.

The event began with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by a felicitation of Neha Agarwal by the College Principal, Dr. Joohi Samarpita. The ceremonial lamp lighting was performed by Neha Agarwal, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Vice Principal Dr. Monika Uppal, Secretary of Management Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, faculty members, and staff.

To introduce the significance of International Youth Day, second-semester students — Swati Raj, Nikki Tamsoy, Somini, Ayush, and Ravi — delivered a PowerPoint presentation on “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), explaining its objectives, vision, and programme processes. The cultural segment featured poems by Kavita Kumari Sundi in English and Shivani Kumari in Hindi, both focusing on the theme of “Developed India and Youth.”

In her address, Neha Agarwal encouraged students to take charge of the nation’s future, stressing that change driven by the youth will shape India’s destiny. She urged them to become youth icons themselves and contribute actively towards building a developed India.

Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita spoke on the responsibilities of youth, highlighting the importance of volunteering in personality development and national progress. She motivated the NSS unit to continue their dedicated efforts.

The programme was anchored by Sarandeep Kaur and Srishti Kumari, while event management was handled by Eliza Samad and Jyoti Kumari. NSS Unit 1 Programme Officer Poonam Kumari coordinated the event. The College Secretary, Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary, Sudha Dilip, faculty members, and non-teaching staff all contributed to the programme’s smooth execution.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Arpita Chakraborty, appreciating the contributions of all participants and supporters. The celebration successfully highlighted the vital role of youth in shaping the vision of a developed India and inspired students to work towards this collective goal.
