DBMS and Tagore Academy fail students, parents protest

Jamshedpur: DBMS English School and The Tagore Academy have failed over 40 students in class eight.

Following this in protest against violation of rules of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, a group of parents of students belonging to DBMS English School and The Tagore Academy in, both affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination( CISCE) protested against detention of students in class VIII.

A group of parents alongwith students met the deputy commissioner, Amitabh Kaushal. The parents were led by Umesh Kumar, president of Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh.

They informed the deputy commissioner about the detention of students which is against the act.

The parents also met the district education officer, East Singhbhum, Mukesh Kumar Sinha and the district superintendent of education, Indra Bhushan Singh to make them aware of the situation.

The education office has showcaused DBMS English School and have called them for a meeting in this regard tomorrow at the district education office.
