Jamshedpur, July 22: The second day of Rakhi Mela organized by Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) witnessed a heavy rush today with women crowding stalls to pick from an array of eye catching designer Rakhis, sarees, handicrafts and household utilities on display. Rina Kumari, a visitor to the exhibition-cum-sale stalls said, �I came here to purchase Rakhis for my brothers and cousins. It was difficult to choose from the latest designs. I picked up three bracelet Rakhis and two others featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MS Dhoni. I will come back tomorrow with my mother to select some eye-catching sarees and a few handcrafted material for home d�cor.�
On the last day of the fair on Tuesday, July 23, the organizers have decided to offer discount between 10 and 50 percent in the various participating stalls.
As per programme, a competition for slogans on organ donation awareness was conducted in which more than 300 women participated. The entries will be judged by Graduate School College for Women�s Hindi Professor Mukul Khandelwal. The results will be declared on Tuesday, July 24 at 4 pm and the top three entries will be awarded prizes.
The MMM organizing committee of the Rakhi Mela comprises Jaya Dokania, Lata Agrawal, Vibha Dudani, Bina Khirwal, Manju Khandelwal, Prabha Padia, Sushila Khirwal, Vina Agrawal, Manju Musaddi, Sima Jawanpuria and Saraswati Agrawal.
