Ranchi: The second day of BEETRIX’25, the annual management festival at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, kicked off with the traditional institutional prayer, embracing the cultural ethos of the institute and setting the stage for a dynamic day of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and spirited competition.
Guided by Chief Patron Dr. P.C. Jha and Faculty Coordinators Dr. Rohini Jha and Dr. Pranjal Kumar, the day commenced with the elimination round of the highly anticipated B-Quiz competition. Conducted by Quizmaster Ms. Anamika, eight enthusiastic teams tackled a rapid-fire round filled with sharp, business-centric questions. After an intense intellectual battle, four teams secured their places in the final round.
In the grand finale, Team Stratos – comprising Sudhanshu Mahanti, Amit Sahil, and Shobhit Chaudhary – clinched the winner’s title. Team Visionaries – (Krish Singh, Harshit Kumar, Shivam Kumar Singh) secured the 1st runner-up spot, while Team Wisteria – (Banshita Mahto, Swetabh Srivastava, Nikita Kumari) – earned the 2nd runner-up position. The judging panel featured Dr. Sumit Srivastava, Dr. Amit Tiwari, and Dr. Narendra Yadav, who meticulously evaluated the participants and offered insightful feedback.
Adding depth to the day’s proceedings, the Department of Management hosted an inspiring podcast session titled “Manage Me If You Can!”. The session featured Ms. Runa Rajeev Kumar, founder of Brand Verse and former Corporate Communications Head at Tata Steel. An XLRI alumna, she delivered an engaging talk on “Mastering the Unspoken Rules of Career Success,” sharing real-world experiences, industry wisdom, and practical advice. Her session emphasized the value of authentic communication, real skills, and mindful career planning, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
Another crowd-puller of the day was Finmaze, a two-stage event that creatively blended finance and cricket. The first round, held on Unstop, was a quiz themed around IPL and recent cricket developments. The top 10 teams, including one wildcard, advanced to an exhilarating auction-based second round, where they used virtual currency to bid on players and form competitive teams for a simulated tournament. Combining batting and bowling metrics, teams showcased their financial acumen and strategic gameplay.
Dr. Avinash Sinha (Assistant Professor, Management Dept., BIT Lalpur) and K. Shidhar Patnaik (Assistant Professor, CSE Dept., BIT Mesra) judged the event, appreciating the innovative intersection of sports and finance.
The day encapsulated the essence of BEETRIX’25 — competition, creativity, and leadership — reinforcing BIT Mesra’s dedication to holistic student development and experiential learning.
