Day 2 witnesses array of events at RVS annual sports meet

Jamshedpur, Dec 22: Today, the second day of a three day annual sports meet FROLIC 2013 began in RVSCET campus.

The Director Prof Dr M P Singh, Bharat Singh, Secretary of the college Principal Prof Dr Sukomal Ghosh along with the faculty members, staff of the college, and a large number of students were present to witness the romance of the different events.

The secretary of the college Mr. Bharat Singh, in his brief address to the participants stressed over the need of disciplined sportsmanship. He also announced various prizes for the winners “Nothing that comes too easily is worth having.

Achieving success demands total effort”, said, Mr. Shatrughna Singh Treasurer of the college managing committee, under whose guidance and supervision sports wing of the college has organized the three day sports meet FROLIC 2013.

Today, over more than 400 participants were seen divided into different groups as SILICON, POWER, LOGIC & TORQUE. STEELIUM and CONCRETO As it was a hectic day for the players scoring for the top slot in a sporting spirit. The championship witnessed the players losing and others with a presence of mind and efforts triumphed at the end from each of the house.

In the girls’ final of carrom Power house defeated the Logical house In the semi final of badminton girls Silicon house defeated Logical house In Tug of War Silicon house defeated the Power house.

Tomorrow will be the final day of FROLIC 2013 witnessing the participants striving hard to snatch the trophies. In the romantic final match of Cricket Logical house defeated Torque house by 31 runs.

In the final round of debate on the topic “Man has become the slave of technology “ the First prize went to Sachin Paul of mechanical branch and the Second Prize to Siddharth of ECE branch.

In the Cricket event team Logic emerged as the winner, In Basketball Boys and Girls Final Team Power won. In the Volleyball boys final team Steelium was the winer while team Torque was the runners up.

In Carrom Boys final team Silicon –II was the winner while in the girls category team Power was the winner. Team Logic also won the Badminton boys title.

The Chess event saw Gopal Kumar Shaw of team Silicon win the title in the boys event while Shaika Santosh of team Silicon won in girls category.
