DAV NIT follows SARAS process for admission to nursery

Jamshedpur, Jan 27: Random selection of students through SARAS for admission to Nursery classes session 2014-15 was done at DAV Public School, NIT Campus, Adityapur under the supervision of District Superintendent of Education, Suresh Chandra Ghosh amidst Mr Radha Sandilya, Janata representative, Binod Srivastava, parents representative, Jyoti Prakash Khirwal, local administration official, Rakesh Sinha, senior manager TFA, M R Valla, representative NIT, Akhilesh Pandey, area manager South Eastern Railway, Tatanagar and other well known dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ghosh said everyone has right to education. According to him children belonging to the weaker section of the society, backward classes, or the one living below poverty line should receive education.

Satyapal Sharma, principal of the school informed that there is uncertainty in the selection of candidate through computerized lottery system and that it is not possible for the school management to tell anyting early regarding the vacant seats.

He expressed his gratitude to the parents for keeping faith in the institute and further prayed for the bright future of these new children.

Earlier, the technical part behind the functioning of the software “SARAS” was made known to all the officials and the dignitaries .

Reena Prasad, the incharge of nursery admission committee, gave the details of all classes of the school and thereafter said that names of selected students of nursery classes could be seen today itself in the school website.

She further added that the admission forms and selection letter to the candidate would be given on January 30, 2014 and that the final admission be taken in the month of February only after the verification of all required documents of the candidates.

The entire process of admission was video recorded to maintain transparency. Khushgra and Anindata the students of the school anchored the programme.

Total seat at the school are 160 which includes backward classes �16, NIT Kota —7, Staff kota —2, Siblings — 32 and General —64 which came to a total selection of 121 students.
