DAV Bistupur wins Science Safari 2015 at JPS

Jamshedpur, Dec. 5: The Science Club of Jamshedpur Public School hosted ‘Science Safari 2015’, an inter school science fest, on Saturday, at the school premises.

All together 550 students from 14 city schools participated with great enthusiasm in the fest. The participating schools included D.A.V. Bistupur, Kerala Samajam Model School, K.P.S. Burmamines, SDSM School of Excellence, Shiksha Niketan School, Baridih High School, Motilal Nehru Public School, Valley View School, Tarapore School Agrico, AIWC Academy of Excellence, Kasidih High School and D.B.M.S. High School, Kadma.

Several events held during the day-long event including model making, science quiz, junk funk, collage making, brain of Jamshedpur, slogan writing, face painting, treasure hunt, talent search, in disguise, nukkad natak and PP presentation. Students worked on models on different concepts of science, which were eventually displayed all around the campus. The displays indeed took the visitors on a journey of science.

DAV Public School, Bistupur, gave tough competition to others school and won most of the events eventually being crowned the overall champion of ‘Science Safari 2015.’ The runners-up trophy was bagged jointly by Kerala Samajam Model School and Jamshedpur Public School. Valley View received the most disciplined school award.

Pramod Kumar, regional director, AMD, Dept. of Atomic Energy, graced the occasion as chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners.

Earlier, the fest began with ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Kumar, Sreeparna Ghosh, secretary, school managing committee, school principal Namita Agarwal and the science club moderator Indrajit Mukherjee.
