Dance audition for Jamshedpur Fest organized

Jamshedpur, Dec. 12: The citizens of the Steel City are set to witness the Jamshedpur Fest. The fest is being organized by Tata Steel in association with the people of Jamshedpur and promises to be bigger and better.

With an exciting lineup of activities including dance competition, musical band performances, Sufi Nite, Master Chef Competition, food festival, Colours of India, cultural performances, the city is getting ready to host this entertainment extravaganza with great pomp and show.

A spectacular dance competition participated by various group representing schools, dance academies, performances from out- location divisions of Tata Steel, like Noamundi, West Bokaro and Jharia, will be organized on December 20. The response from various groups has been stupendous this year and to ensure that the best dancers perform on the final day, an audition round was held on Friday at the Fasy Auditorium in Loyola School.

The morning half was dedicated to the schools with 13 participating groups and in the evening there were participants from 25 dance academies who performed and competed in the preliminary rounds for selection for the finale.

During the morning audition round, Srimanti Sen, president, AIWC, was the chief guest, while the judges for the school round audition were Varsha Daga, Roopa Mahanty, Runa Mitra and Shweta Patel.

Ms Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson, SAFE, and patron of AIWC, was the chief guest for the audition in the evening. Judges for the academy audition round were Bharti Singh, Shiju Ashok, Madhushree and Jalpa Parikh.

The dance committee is headed by Vandana Mathur, who organized this entire dance audition for the Dance Fiesta 2015, which promises to be a platform for dancers showcase their talents.

Along with the finalists, Pandit Shyamal Maharaj, noted Kathak dancer and famous tabla and pakhwaj player, will be the star attraction for the dance extravaganza scheduled for December 20.
