D.B.M.S English School hosts ‘Number Ninja’ & Seuli Shil Memorial Quiz

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: DBMS English School, on Thursday, January 18, hosted the VI th inter-school Maths Quiz, ‘Number Ninja’ for students of classes VII and VIII and the 33^rd Seuli Shil Memorial Quiz for students between Classes V and VII. ‘The ‘Number Ninja’ Quiz was organized at the initiative of the School’s patron, Bhanumathi Neelakantan.

The Quiz Master for both the quiz segments was Vinay Mudliyar who is renowned for hosting Television Quiz shows and founding one of India’s Premier Quiz ventures, ‘Mindcogs.’

Around 18 schools participated in both quiz contests. DBMS Principal, Rajani Shekhar and Vice Principal, PK Sahu were also present on the occasion. In the preliminary round of ‘Number Ninja’ the participating school teams were tested for their maths skills were tested over a wide spectrum. Six teams comprising Loyola School, Little Flower School, Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS), Sacred Heart Convent School, Hill Top School and Motilal Nehru Public School qualified for the finals.

The Quiz comprised 5 rounds. The students were quizzed on a wide array of logical and challenging puzzles wherein their ability with numbers and problem solving skills were put to test. The top three teams to emerge after the final round in the ‘Number Ninja’ quiz contest were KSMS with 65 points, Sacred Heart Convent School with 50 points and Hill Top School with 31 points.

In the the 33rd Inter School Seuli Shil Memorial Quiz Contest that is held every year in memory of Seuli , a student of DBMS School, whom lost her life on March 3, 1989, six teams qualified after the preliminary rounds to reach the final. The teams that qualified included DBMS English School, Hill Top School, Little Flower School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, ADLS Sunshine School and Loyola School.

The Quiz comprised 5 rounds. The participants were quizzed on a wide array of subjects. At the end of the final round, DBMS English School bagged 50 points, ADLS Sunshine School scored 40 points while Hill Top School scored 35 and clinched the top three spots respectively.
