Cyclone Titli: East Singhbhum DC issues precautionary warning to officials

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar here on Thursday issued a warning to all district officials including block, circle and police station officers to take special precaution in view of Cyclone Titli�s progress towards Odisha coast.

Met department sources said Cyclone Titli is fast moving towards Odisha due to pressure building over the Bay of Bengal. It is progressing at the rate of 10 km per hour. As per weather forecast, the cyclone�s intensity is likely to increase and its rate of progress may go up to 145 km per hour. The impact of the cyclone is likely to be witnessed in the various districts of Jharkhand including East Singhbhum from 12th to 14th October. The likely effects will include strong winds and heavy rains.

The DC has instructed the senior district officials to monitor weather conditions in their respective areas and instantly inform the senior administration officials in case of emergency situations. In case of a calamity or losses resulting from it, an assessment should be made for the payment of compensation, he said.
