Jamshedpur, April 28: Tarapore School organized a cybersecurity awareness session titled ‘Identifying and Handling Online Threats’ in collaboration with CyberPeace Corps, aiming to educate students about safe digital practices and responsible online behavior.
The session encouraged students to reflect on their digital well-being while addressing key concerns such as cyberbullying, data breaches, impersonation and financial scams. Expert speakers Rohit Raj, Tarak Das, Amit Abhishek and Rupesh Kumar Kothari provided valuable insights into emerging online threats.
They highlighted the dangers of online grooming, risks associated with excessive online gaming and introduced the concept of ‘digital arrest’—a growing cybercrime tactic. The speakers also shared practical tools and strategies to help students identify and effectively tackle such threats.
Concluding the session, Principal Ishita Dey emphasized that complacency remained one of the biggest dangers in the digital world. She cautioned students against the mindset of “It will never happen to us,” urging them instead to stay alert and mindful of their online activities and digital footprints
