Cyber thugs dupe Rs 24 lakh in Jamshedpur


Jamshedpur, Dec 30:  Cyber thugs withdrew Rs 24 lakh from the bank account of Birsanagar resident Srinivas Dubey after downloading Any Desk. 
A complaint has been lodged with the cyber police station. The police took prompt action after the incident. Checked bank account. Refrigerated all the 10 accounts in which money was transferred. So far, the police has managed to return Rs 5 lakh 31 thousand 412 to the complainant. Further action is in progress. The incident happened on November 18.
Giving a complaint to the police station, Pratyush Dwivedi, a resident of Vijaya Garden, told the police that he had an account in ICICI in his father’s name. For the last 10 years, his  father was depositing Rs 25,000 in the name of my mother Nirmala Dubey, whose maturity period was to be on 18 November 2021. On not getting any information, the customer care number of ICICI Insurance was taken out as 8721024707.
He contacted that number for insurance money and was asked about policy number and assured the money will come. Then asked to download Any Desk app from play store. Asking to enter the number nine digit, the mother’s name and date of birth so that money would be credited into father’s account number. They also took the account number in which the fixed deposit amount of Rs 54 was deposited and father’s mobile number which is registered. ICICI Internet Banking user id and password OTP came which was hacked by that person using any desk app and then there was a message of withdrawal of Rs 3 lakh from the father’s account several times, a total of 24 rupees.
