Cyber thugs dupe Jamshedpur resident of Rs 70,000

Jamshedpur, August 10: A person named Jagdamba Tripathi, a resident of Agrico in Sidgora police station area, has been cheated. Cyber thugs have swindled ₹ 70000 from his bank account.

Cyber thugs sent a link to Jagdamba Tripathi. This link was in the name of Hind Tour and Travel Company. Jagdamba Tripathi opened the link and then fell prey to the instructions given by the cyber thugs and transferred ₹70000 from his account.

Later, when he realized that he had been duped, he lodged an FIR in Sidgora police station on Sunday. An FIR has been lodged against the holder of the mobile number from which the link was sent. After registering the FIR, the police have started investigating the matter.

On the other hand, thieves have broken the lock of the donation box of Hanuman temple located at Bhuiyandih Litti Chowk and have stolen the cash. Police say that no one is able to tell how much money was in the donation box. But the donation box had not been opened for many days.

It is being estimated from this that there was a good amount of money in it. It is worth noting that incidents of theft have increased in Jamshedpur. On Friday night itself, money was stolen from the donation boxes of many temples in Telco area.
