Cyber crime: Three robbed of Rs 93,000 in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 6: Cyber criminals made hay on Sunday by successfully robbing three citizens of their hard earned money worth Rs 93,000 through online fraud. The victims are from Kadma, Jugsalai and Bagbera.

In one of the incidents, the culprits cheated one Rajeshwar Kumar of Road No 3 of Bagbera Colony by asking him to download Anydesk App and robbed him of Rs 80,000. Kumar had sought a helpline number from Google regarding a bank loan query. He was immediately duped by cyber criminals.

The second cheating victim, Sayeed Yashir, was duped by a person claiming to be a parcel delivery agent. The culprit sent an online link to the victim to accept payment for a parcel. By clicking the link, the victim lost Rs 8554 in three installments, sources said.

The third victim, Charitra Agrawal of Tank Road, Kadma, lost Rs 4880 to a fake customer who sought his Google Pay number under the pretext of going to make payment for a bogus order worth the same amount.
