Jamshedpur, Aug 28: Steel city is becoming a hub of cyber crimes day by day. Cases of cyber fraud are being registered with the Cyber Police Station like never before. Notwithstanding firm action taken by the victims, their hard-earned money rarely comes back to them. This has only boosted the morale of cyber frauds.
In one such incident, cyber criminals changed the mobile number of Bajrang gas agency, Sonari on 1st July last. The agency proprietor informed Cyber PS officials the same day. But according to him, no action was taken by police. So far 15 people have been cheated by the culprits.
Arup Banerjee, a social worker from Sonari, said, It seems the police are waiting for hundreds of people to gather in protest against their inaction.
RP Vajpayee, officer in-charge of Cyber PS, said the police was doing its best to crack the cases despite lack of resources.
Recently, cyber criminals of Jamshedpur had created a fake ID of Satna Collector and started duping people. Satna police detected the crime and arrested the culprits.
