Curtains down on rare coin exhibition

P Babu wins best overall exhibitor

, Jan 21: The three day coin exhibition which included about 300 rare coins, a few dating back to the old centuries displayed at Mohan Ahuja Stadium here came to a close on Tuesday with prizes to the winners and exhibitors.

At the closing ceremony Ashish Mathur MD JUSCO and President of Coin Collectors Club was present during the occasion to give away the prizes to the participants.

The coins included ancient Indian gold coins of the Gupta age and those from the times of the Mughal Empire from emperors Babur. The 19th edition of Jamcoin, a three-day exhibition by the Coin Collectors Club in Jamshedpur was a big hit.

Harshita Naidu who exhibited Indian coins and foreign mint, obtained 82 marks and won the best Child exhibitor award.

Shreyashi who exhibited Indian Coins from Foreign Mint and obtained 81.5 marks was awarded Best Lady Child Exhibitor while Best Male Exhibitor Mr.Satyajit Roy Exhibited Assam Coins and obtained 73.5 marks.

Best Overall Exhibitor was won by P.Babu Rao who obtained 82 marks.

S.K.Bose & Anup Mitra Scholars from Kolkata who evaluated the exhibitors were honoured during the occasion with a momento from the Coin Collectors Club Trophies, momentos and certificates were awarded to all of the Exhibitors and Dealers, Mrs.Vandana Mathur, Mr.Ravie Kumar and Mr.Jijo Thomas were also honoured during the occasion, who worked backstage in successful completion of this JAMCOIN 2014.
