Jamshedpur, July 22: East Singhbhum district administration has decided to relax the curfew for eight hours (10 am to 6 pm) on Thursday in Jamshedpur barring the Mango Police Station area, Ulidih PS, Azadnagar PS and MGM Police Station were the curfew will be relaxed for two hours (8 am to 10 am).
The decision came after no such incident of violence was reported during the four hour (1 pm to 5 pm) relaxation of curfew on Wednesday.
Talking about the situation, DC Dr. Amitabh Kaushal talking to the media persons on Wednesday night said, “the situation is under control and we hope peace will prevail in the city soon.
Two hours relaxation in Mango, Ulidih, Azadnagar, and MGM Police Station area has been done seeing the people who are facing scarcity of essential commodities”.
DC further said that there will be No entry for heavy vehicles in the day time while the schools will also remain closed on Thursday. Jubilee Park will be opened at the same prescribed time of 10 to 6.
Talking about loose petrol selling, DC Kaushal said that we had talks with petrol dealers association and have strictly ordered them to see that no loose petrol is sold otherwise strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Also present during the press meet, SSP Anoop T Mathew said that on Wednesday 10 more people were arrested while 2 more FIRs were filed. “There was incident of violation of section 144 of CrPC in Dhatkidih and police soon reached the spot and took necessary action.
Paramilitary forces, Jharkhand Police and others are keeping tab on the situation and hope city comes back to normal as early as possible”, added SSP.
On Wednesday, shops, business establishments and petrol pumps downed shutters, while vehicular traffic was thin during the curfew relaxation period.
Earlier in the morning, CRPF staged a flag march to inculcate confidence among the people.
