Baharagora: Cultural icon Krishna Nanda Mishra passed away at his Baharagora residence yesterday. He was 93 years old. He has left behind a trail of admirers. Baharagora lost one of its most admired, versatile personalities who lived and breathed a heritage of culture.
The moment the news of his demise spread there was a rush of people from far and near to catch a last glimpse of the cultural Guru.
Krishna Nanda Mishra was a critically acclaimed writer, theatre director and actor especially in the bordering areas of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. Since childhood his interest in the fields of literature and cultural activities gradually emerged that catapulted him to fame.
His poems, essays and short stories written in Bengali and Odiya have been published. He used to study regional history which made him an authority on the subject. He personally claimed that he was a disciple of revolutionary poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. He was the president of the district�s oldest library, Binapani Pathagar. Binapani Club members paid their last tribute to Krishna Nanda Mishra in the club premises.
