Cultural bouquet of all religions merge in festivities: Pappu Sardar

Traditional games mark Tusu Parab, Makar Sankranti celebrations

Jamshedpur, Jan 16: Rajkamal Club of Mukhi Samaj today organized a get together on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Tusu Parab at Harijan Basti in Burmamines. Traditional games were played on the occasion. During the closing ceremony, prizes were distributed.

Chief guest on the occasion, Madhuri Dixit fan Pappu Sardar while giving away prizes to the winners of the various cultural sports competitions and congratulating them observed, �I give my best wishes to you all on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Tusu Festival.

Games keep the mind and body of youth healthy. There are immense possibilities in sports. For the Hindu community Makar Sankranti is a very pious event. We celebrate new crops and from here all festivities commence. It is through the auspicious Makar Sankranti that we get to see the diverse cultural colours because on such occasions flower bouquets of all religions merge.�

Pappu further observed that Makar Sankranti is celebrated throughout India and Nepal in different names and through practice of different rituals. Earlier chief guest Pappu Sardar cut a cake which was distributed among all present, to inaugurate the events. The organizing team was headed by Mukhiya Kalia Mukhi.

The respected members of the Mukhi community were honoured on the occasion. They stated that these types of games were helping in preserving and propagating the cultural heritage.

Among the organizing team were Shibu Mukhi, Ramesh Mukhi, Mahesh Mukhi, Shivraj Mukhi, Dhiraj Mukhi, Gangu Mukhi, Devdas Mukhi, Ganesh Mukhi and Dhiren Mukhi.
