CSIR-NML Jamshedpur hosts lectures on yoga and nutrition for Women’s Day

Jamshedpur, March 8: CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) on the eve of International Women’s Day, organized special lectures on “Yoga, Mental Health and Wellness” and “Diet and Nutrition” to promote healthy living among its employees.

Arvind Prasad, former Yoga Guru at JRD Sports Complex, Tata Steel, delivered a lecture on “Yoga, Mental Health and Wellness,” emphasizing the role of yoga in maintaining mental and physical well-being. Dr. Priyanka Singh, Medical Officer at CSIR-NML, spoke on “Diet and Nutrition,” highlighting the importance of a balanced diet in preventing diseases and leading a healthy lifestyle.

The session was attended by women scientists, technical researchers, administrative staff, students, and temporary workers of the laboratory. Participants gained valuable insights into adopting yoga in modern lifestyles and making informed dietary choices for better health.

The event was conducted by Dr. Ranu Verma, Section Officer, while Senior Principal Scientist Dr. Anshu J. Kailath delivered the vote of thanks. The program was successfully organized under the direction of CSIR-NML Director Dr. Sandeep Ghosh Choudhary and the guidance of Aditya Mainak, Controller of Administration, and Viplav Vishal, Administrative Officer.

Key contributions to the event were made by Dr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Dr. Jhumki Hait,  Parmarth Suman, Santosh Kumar Rai, Ved Prakash, and Md. Nayeem Ansari of the NML Staff Club.
