CSIR-NML Jamshedpur conducts cleanliness, plantation drive at Tatanagar Railway Station

Jamshedpur, May 14: As part of the ongoing “Swachchhata Pakhwada 2025” campaign, CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR-NML), Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the Railway Authority, carried out a cleanliness and plantation drive at Tatanagar Railway Station on Wednesday.

The initiative was led under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director of CSIR-NML, Abhishek Singhal, Area Manager of Tatanagar, and Dr. Sarmishtha Sagar, Chief Scientist, CSIR-NML. The CSIR-NML team, including scientists and staff members Dr. S. Sivaprasad, Dr. Raghuvir Singh, Jay Shankar Sharan, and others, actively participated alongside Railway personnel.

During the drive, the station premises were cleaned thoroughly, and four potted plants were handed over to the Area Manager as part of the green initiative. In a gesture of appreciation, the “Safai Mitras” of the Railway authorities were also felicitated for their dedicated efforts in maintaining cleanliness.

The event is part of a broader campaign being observed by CSIR-NML from May 1 to May 15, which includes various activities such as Swachchhata oath-taking, cleanliness drives at residential campuses, sit-and-draw competitions for children, and essay, quiz, and extempore competitions aimed at promoting hygiene awareness.
