Ranchi, Jan. 16:Directing PDS to speed up paddy purchase, Chief Secretary Raj BalaVerma said that the farmers should not be discouraged at centers. She said that paddy procurement agencies should be regularly monitored and staff should be deployed at every paddy purchase center.
She said to put banner at the centers to ensure rate, assure the farmers about paddy purchase and tell them that the amount will be transferred into their bank accounts. She said that only 16,680 farmers have been sent SMS and directed to complete SMS sending by February. Agencies should open their offices near DSO office, abide by the fixed parameters and monitor it on district level daily. At the same time, purchasing centers should be opened at scheduled time. Now 415 procurement centers are working.
Reviewing grain collection through e-Pos, the CS directed those districts which have not completed seeding work, to complete ration card seeding in 15 days. She said to do physical verification of the people who did not collect grain.
License of those shopkeepers who do not distribute grain through e-pos should be cancelled or tagged with a nearby PDS center. 55 lakh, 78 thousand and 40 ration cards out of 40 lakh, 40 thousand and 608 have been linked with Aadhar number and aadhaar verification of 46 lakh 12 thousand and 496 cards has been done. Storage capacity of all districts are being increased by 2 and half time.
1 lakh 47 thousand 850 metric ton capacity has been built and work for storing 1 lakh 17 thousand and 500 metric ton is in progress.
