Ranchi, June 21: Chief secretary Raj Bala Verma directed to prepare a special work plan to brand Jharcraft.
She directed to present KPMG report for rejuvenation of Jharcraft in three months and review the development with KPMG team leader.
She said it while reviewing Jharcraft and Industry Department with their officers.
She said that strategy should be made with different departments and the purchase should be cashless.
The policy, mode and manner to purchase of Jharcraft products (blankets, bed sheet, school dress etc.) should be determined and said that production of blankets as per the target should be done before Durga Puja.
To achieve this target, 100 more looms should be installed. Presently 150 looms are working where blankets are prepared.
The CS said that special work plan should be made for all the 35 clusters working under Jharcraft and the responsibility of cluster manager should be fixed to boost production capacity.
At the same time, retreating weavers of Jharkhand should be given work under Jharcraft.
It should be determined how many jobs are being created by Jharcraft and its potential to create jobs should also be considered.
The department said that presently 240 looms are installed and 116 are functional producing 8700 bed sheets in 25 working days of a month.
By activating all looms, this number of bed sheets can be increased to 18,000 every month.
The CS directed that bed sheets of seven different colors should be given in seven days in hospitals.
She said that dress should be prepared for Netarhat, all residential schools and Kasturba Gandhi Girls School to bring Jharcraft in profit.
She said that the sarees prepared by Jharcraft should be branded.
She directed to send brochures to Embassies of other nations and do correspondence in this regard. She directed to tag all products of Jharcraft with �Made in Jahrkhand.�
Industry secretary Sunil Kr. Burnwal, Industry director K. Ravi Kumar, Jharcraft MD Ajay Kumar and other officers were present on this occasion.
