CS orders prisoners hearing through the e-court

Ranchi, Aug. 8: Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma on Tuesday said that the e-court is functioning in the state, hence, all the prisoners should be brought for hearing through the e-court.

Reviewing the Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department, CS further said, all the jail superintendents have been instructed to arrange the trial through video conferencing.

All hardcore criminals and naxalites should be brought for hearing through video conferencing.
At the same time, the CS directed to install video conferencing devices in all the jails of 24 districts.

Surprise inspections should be done from time to time regularly and checking of the deputed wardens should be ensured on two tier level so that mobiles and other devices could not be taken inside.

At the same time, it was decided to buy devices in jails for mobile detection.

The CS said that all the children above 5 years of age whose parents are convicted should be admitted in the schools.

Such children accompanying their mothers in jails should be profiled and sent to residential schools, ashrams and gurukuls.

Reviewing the Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited, the CS directed to work fast for construction of police lines in Dumka, Palamu, Chaibasa and Saraikela-Kharsawan and said that the old houses should be repaired.

Reviewing the Home Guards, the CS said that they should be deputed according to MIS and detailed report should be prepared for appointment of youth home guards in naxal prone zones.

Principal Home Sec S. K. G. Rahate and other officers were present in the meeting.
