CS orders for online license and vehicle registration

Ranchi: Chief secretary Rajiv Gauba has asked the transportation department to issue driving license and vehicle registration smart cards in rest of 10 districts on the lines of what is being issued in 14 districts in Jharkhand.

The chief secretary was reviewing ongoing driving license and vehicle registration process in the State level executive committee meeting held today in Ranchi.

He asked the transport department to bring in similarity in the process of issuance of registration and license in 24 districts within May 1, 2015.

Gauba stressed on the fact that the system ought to be simplified. He asked the department to bring in necessary changes in system to provide better service to people through district transport offices.

He asked the department to put in place online system for deposits of driving license fees. The chief secretary also stressed on the need of opening driving schools for commercial vehicles so that youths get employment.

Rajiv Gauba in the meeting also reviewed the progress of Inter-city bus transportation and multi-level parking system in the city.

Present on the occasion among others were principal secretary, Project and Development, Arun Kumar Singh, secretary, and Transportation, Ratan Kumar.
