Ranchi, Oct. 15: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today said that no slackness will be tolerated in road construction projects on the part of contractors or agencies in rural areas. Those contractors or agencies showing slackness should be identified and reported to the department, she said.
Verma was reviewing road construction projects being carried out in rural areas by the National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC).
The CS said that all road construction works by NPCC should be sped up and all processes related with construction should be completed before 20th November. She said that the progress of work was very slow in many districts and in some districts the construction work had not been initiated as yet.
Directing the NPCC officers, Verma said that profiles of contractors and agencies whose performance was not satisfactory should be prepared.
The profile details should also be shared with the road construction department so that their work should be reviewed before awarding them contracts in future and action should be taken against them.

The districts where work is slow should be monitored specially and process of all pending roads should be completed by 20th November. A weekly development report should be sent to the department.
It should be noted that the NPCC has been allotted 924 road projects in phase 7-12 covering 3455.67 km construction out of which 367 roads covering approximately 1500.19 km has been constructed.
