Ranchi: Reviewing the condition of farmers and agriculture department, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma directed all the district agriculture officers (DAOs) to activate their Panchayat level teams and get the condition of each farmer reviewed so that they can sow without pressure. The DAOs should ensure sowing of each paddy field and wholesalers and retailers of fertilizers should be tagged with farmers in each village.
As per the health card of soil, information regarding selection of crops to be sown should be provided to the farmers. The farmers should be treated friendly and their agricultural problems should be sorted out. 11 lakh farmers have been connected with Kisan Fasal Beema and 98 thousand quintal seeds have been distributed. 0.5 per cent rate has decreased on fertilizer because of GST and farmers should avail of it.
The CS directed to put the fertilizer traders out of list who have not got their license renewed. She laid stress on conducting camps to connect the farmers with Fasal Beema Yojana. The CS directed that farm generation should be done through conducting camps at Panchayat level and maximum farmers should be connected with Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana. At the same time, the pending claims of insurance should be done through the camps.
Verma said that the pending claims of fasal beema should be done village wise so that claims should be paid through camps. At the same time, the generated applications through camps should be investigated through BTM/ ATM and 10% of total forms should be checked by the BCO so that rejection could be minimized. Farmers should be tagged with fertilizer retailers and fertilizer retailers with the wholesalers so that peasants could be provided chemical fertilizers in monsoon. She said that list of farmers against every fertilizer retailer should be prepared so that they should not face problems in obtaining fertilizers.
Verma said that all the licensed fertilizer traders should be verified and those who have not renewed their licenses should be put out of the list. She said that in order to provide Mrida Card to the farmers, samples should be collected and sent to ARYA labs. KCC should be converted into Rupay Card. Boundary of barren and uncultivated land should be zeo tagged and photo uploaded.
It was told by the department that by now, 11 lakh farmers have been connected with fasal beema while 97.623 quintal of seeds have been distributed against targeted 1.25 lakh. Moreover, 250 LAMPS have been licensed as wholesalers and 739 PACKS as retailers for smooth distribution of fertilizers on time. Farmers are provided fertilizers at low rate and 0.5% rate has decreased after implementation of GST. For Mrida Health Card, soil samples from 2.41 lakh grid have been collected against targeted 3.81 lakh grids.
Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal, Director, Bagwani Mission Rajiv Kumar and others were present in the meeting.
