Cry over potato and onion prices

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party Mahanagar unit has demanded administrative measures to control spiraling prices of potato and onion and action against illegal hoarding of the same by traders.

The outfit members led by vice president Ajay Kumar Srivastava met the DC on Thursday and handed over a memorandum to him demanding stringent measures against traders hoarding potato and onion to line their pockets.

They alleged that the prices were rising as a result of greed of a handful of traders in the district.

They further alleged that the public distribution system (PDS) dealers did not distribute ration after receiving the supplies in the last two or three days of every month.

The agitators included Shanti Devi, Sanjay Dubey and Ganesh Singh.
