As nothing fruitful came out from their protest at the CRPF camp, the villagers went over to the Chaibasa Muffasil thana where they demonstrated demanding the police to identify the culprit and to take necessary action against him.

The Chaibasa Muffasil police called in the CWC functionaries and made them take statements from the minor. On the basis of the girl’s statement given to the CWC that the police registered a case against the CRPF jawan.

“We take such incidents seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of the region. The accused will be thoroughly interrogated to ascertain his motive and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings,” said an official.
