Jamshedpur, Sept 25: A gang of four criminals executed a daring heist in the suburban Jondragora area under the jurisdiction of the Sundarnagar Thana today, leaving residents in shock.
The incident occurred when the criminals, posing as IT sleuths, gained entry into a residence before taking its occupants hostage.
The criminals initially presented themselves as IT officials to gain entry into the targeted house. Once inside, they swiftly changed their facade and took the elderly woman and a young girl residing there as hostages. With the inmates under their control, the criminals proceeded to forcefully open an almirah and made off with a sum of Rs 8,000 in cash along with valuable gold ornaments.
Adding to the distress, one of the culprits coerced the elderly woman into signing a document before making their hasty exit from the scene of the crime.
The victim of this audacious robbery is identified as M Mery, whose son M James was away on duty when the incident unfolded. Upon his return and learning of the robbery, James promptly reported the matter to the Sundarnagar thana and filed an FIR against unidentified assailants.
The shocking aspect of this incident is its close proximity to the Sundarnagar thana, located merely 100 meters away. The daring criminals managed to execute the robbery right under the nose of law enforcement authorities.
Officer-in-Charge of the Sundarnagar thana, Prabhat Kumar, confirmed the incident and assured that the police was actively investigating the case. “We are making efforts to identify the criminals through CCTV footage. We are confident that the case will be solved soon,” Kumar stated.
The audacious nature of this crime, with criminals assuming false identities to infiltrate a home and make off with valuables, has raised concerns among local residents. Law enforcement authorities are leaving no stone unturned to bring the culprits to justice and restore a sense of security in the area.
