Jamshedpur : The East Singhbhum district police have recommended Crime Control Act (CCA) against 25 criminals who are presently lodged in Ghaghidih Central Jail. The decision has been taken in view of the rising crime graph in the city.
Those against whom CCA was recommended are Kallu Ghosh, Munna Ghosh, Sagar Kumar Shah, Chandan Ghosh, Shukmar Karmakar alias Thumka, Akaash Gope alias Daku, Govinda Paswan, Mohammed Israfil, Tinku Gope, Vikash Singh, Samir Sardar, Anwar Ali alias Amaan, Pappu Datta, Mohammed Iqbal and Sudhir Dubey.
The recommendation for the CCA and “District Out” order has been made by the senior superintendent of police, Amol V Homkar to the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amitabh Kaushal.
Once an undertrial accused comes under the CCA, under no circumstanes will be entitled to file bail petition with any court. And so far as the “Disrict Out’ order is concerned, such criminals remain absconded recommed after committing any grievous crime will not be allowed to enter the East Singhbhum district.
Revealing about the move, the senior SP Homkar said that once the recommendations were get a final nod at the Home Department, they will be in a position to control crime effectively .
Homkar said this was the first time that two dreaded criminals have been recommended for the “district out” order in the East Singhbhum district, adding that he is confident that the recommendations made by the district police will get the final nod.
The city police are witnessing some the testing times. While the deteriorating law and order situation in the city remain major concern, the city witnessed more than 128 suicides in which about 40 per cent are teenagers.
During last part of 2009 and first part of 2010 has been very trouble some period. Crime increased and criminal activities could not be controlled.
Inspite of the best effort made by the former SP Navin Kumar Singh, of the town crime could not be controlled and as a result during last months the town was virtually looking like a police camp.
A crime wave has gripped the city in recent months with figures showing a substantial increase in the number of murders, thefts and robberies taking place across the city. Our city has the reputation of being the safe but in few days crime graph has witnessed a sudden rise. It is high time that police identifies such criminals and action is taken against them,� said social worker.
SSP Amol V Homkar said police was taking necessary steps to control and detect crime. �We are giving our best and will come up with results very soon,� he claimed.
