Hazaribagh: In a significant development, Barkatha police station under Hazaribagh district has apprehended five youths involved in cybercrime. The arrest comes in the wake of information received by the police about illicit cyber activities taking place in Masipadi, Basaria, and neighboring villages.
The individuals arrested have been identified as Shankar Kumar and Sakaldev Prasad (both sons of the late Doman Mahato) from Masipadi village, Alok Kumar (son of the late Laxman Prasad), Rohit Kumar (son of Jageshwar Mandal) from Basaria village, and Kuldeep Prasad (son of the late Lakhan Mandal) from Khaira village. The police successfully recovered their mobile phones during the operation.
Investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were engaged in fraudulent activities, exploiting the Escort Service website. Their modus operandi involved deceiving individuals by sending objectionable pictures of girls and women, while falsely claiming to provide services. The suspects were involved in duping people by soliciting money under the guise of offering services through the aforementioned website.
